Nick Varano Opens Strip By Strega Giving the Herald a First Taste
Celebrated restaurateur, Nick Varano will host the grand opening of Strip By Strega restaurant on April 18th at the Park Plaza. As the 4th member of the Strega family, “Strip” follows in a line of several highly successful Boston eateries. With its lavish menu, and elegant decor, Strip by Strega will undoubtedly live up to the standard set by its predecessors.
Executive Chef, Farouk Bazoune has taken a slight detour from the signature Italian-style established with the flagship restaurant, Strega and Nico Ristorante. Not to worry however, Bazoune’s menu is most certainly bound to impress.
Among a savory assortment, foodies will gravitate to the 6-inch bone-cut roasted bone marrow, as well as Varano’s classic steakhouse-style selections (8-ounce sirloin, long bone-in Delmonico, and richly marbled, 6-ounce A5 Japanese Wage, to name a few). Should prime beef not tempt the palette,
Strega’s raw bar offers a broad list of alternatives ranging from Royal Ostera caviar, to a 32-piece seafood tower.
Other noteworthy sections include the Rack of Lamb which showcases raita yogurt sauce, and tuna tartare. Also the fontina fondue gnocchi.
Beyond the mouth-watering menu, Strip by Strega effectively presents an atmosphere that is both chic and energized. As with all restaurants in the Strega Group, celebrity sightings are not uncommon. Among Varano’s regulars: Rob Gronkowski, Lionel Richie, and fellow New Englander, Mark Wahlberg.
Varano and Bazoune will host a soft opening on April 17th. The fortuitous few who attend this invite-only affair, will take in a performance by Mary J. Blige and Kool and the Gang. They may also have an opportunity to mingle “surprise celebrity guests”. Considering Strega’s history, celebrity sightings may very well be over shadowed by the food!
